What is impotence?

The mechanism of male erection is so sophisticated and complex that there’s no big surprise that sometimes it goes not as good as you’d wish to. Still, having problems with getting and keeping a good hard erection form time to time is nothing to worry about, because it happens to all men, and it’s not impotence. A cause for concern is the situation when a man is having problems with erection in more than 25% of cases – that is what doctors start to call erectile dysfunction. ED can have various degrees of severity, ranging from ongoing problems with keeping the erection, early ejaculation to being completely unable to get an erection at all. But what is more important is that erectile dysfunction can have various causes, and by knowing which one has influenced impotence in every particular case is the key to treating the condition.

Erectile dysfunction can be a very strong signal, informing you that there’s something wrong in your body. It usually doesn’t take place on its own, being a side-effect of a much more serious condition. Erectile dysfunction is typically caused by two different sets of factors – psychological and physiological – which require their own ways of treatment. So before you engage in any practices or consider using medications, you first have to define what the root of your problem is.

Psychological causes for ED are probably the most widespread, because things like stress, anxiety and depression are met more often these days. Treating erectile dysfunction caused by such conditions can be relatively easy, because it usually doesn’t involve any strong drugs or complicated medical procedures. However, when treating these conditions with certain anti-anxiety drugs and antidepressants you have to be careful, because they may be causing ED as a side-effect. So make sure to consult with a doctor or a pharmacist before starting a course of treatment.

Physiological causes for male impotence include a very wide range of conditions, which are primarily related to the health of blood vessels and nervous tissue in the penile area. Having diabetes, blood pressure problems, heard diseases, high cholesterol levels, kidney or liver diseases, recent surgical operations, cancer treatment or prostate problems will raise the likelihood of developing erectile dysfunction. This is where addressing the condition on its own, especially when it has been around for a long time, is not enough and using drugs such as Viagra is encouraged.

Lifestyle and habits can also be the cause for erectile dysfunction. It is a well known fact that alcohol abuse and heavy smoking influence the development of impotence in men, and the longer you follow these habits, the harder it will be getting back healthy erections after you’re done. Shifting towards a healthier lifestyle, following a low-calorie diet, exercising and getting enough sleep can sometimes be a lot more effective than using Viagra, because a healthy lifestyle will improve the overall state of your body and not just the ability to have sex. So before you buy Viagra online, revise the way you treat your body everyday and see if there are some changes to be done.

Accutane before — what comes after?

We should not blame the bacteria that humans treat each other so badly. All they want is somewhere warm to reproduce with plenty of food. That the results cause people so much emotional pain is hardly their fault. Like most other diseases and disorders, acne is what it is. Acne does not judge us. It simply creeps up on us one day and shows its presence on our faces, necks and shoulders. Under normal circumstances, it then moves on and, hopefully, we recover from the emotional scars inflicted by those around us. But, in some cases, there are physical scars as well. Perhaps this was the unfair touch of the condition. That some could be marked for life. Except now there are treatments to deal with the scars left behind.

First, we need to understand why scarring results. There are two basic types of acne scar. Some are pits or depressions in the skin, either with a smooth rolling surface or with sharp angular edges. The other variety is raised portions of rubbery skin. These are most obvious when the outgrowth passes beyond the site of the original wound and may be itchy. Like a cut in the surface of the skin, acne is also a type of wound. It heals when a sufficient volume of collagen comes together and granulation tissue forms. But, because the wound is physically inside the dermis, the resulting scar forms under the surface of the skin. This makes it very difficult to remove. In fact, there is no one treatment that works well for everyone because the nature of the scars is different.

One approach, more cosmetic in nature, is to inject collagen into the site of the scars. This fills out or stretches the skin, and makes depressed scars less noticeable. Although this is a quick procedure, it is less useful when the depressions are deep and it is only temporary. The collagen slowly disperses and the injections must be repeated at regular intervals if a smooth complexion is to be maintained. This pushes many people into more aggressive treatments. For the best results, it is better not to delay treatment for too long. For depressed scars, the aim is to force the skin to regenerate. This is done using ablative techniques, i.e. the outer layer of the skin is physically worn away which encourages new skin to grow from underneath. Alternatively, chemicals are used to remove the outer layers of skin. For the most difficult cases, there is subcision to cut through the layers of skin and punch excision. Many practitioners will try to sell you on laser treatments. This is effective for minor facial blemishes but it has its limitations. The clinical trials have never used statistically significant numbers of participants and there is no real research evidence of their effectiveness.

This may suggest it better not to allow the acne to produce scarring. With effective early treatment, the different types of zit can usually be prevented from producing scars. If the conventional treatments are not successful, there is accutane. Although this has some limitations – there are always some risks for the more powerful treatments – the benefits are real. The benefits? That accutane removes all acne in the majority of people during the first course of treatment lasting three months. If there is some acne left, the second three month course is always successful.

Buy viagra and stay active

Well, here’s the thing. If you keep on having sex and your sperm count is good enough, the odds favor you having children unless someone is using a contraceptive. Talk to governments around the world, and they are genuinely worried about the falling birth rate. We are rapidly moving to a world where there are going to be more old people than young people. Sorry, that does need a minor clarification. There are more older people than babies. The governments are worried about who is going to look after all these really old folk. The managers of pension schemes and medical plans foresee there not being enough money coming in from the people still working to pay for all the retirees. Perhaps even more importantly, humans could start dying out unless the birth rate increases.

This is all the fault of these scientist types. They had to go and work out the link between sexual activity and babies. Before anyone made the connection, couples just mated and then wondered where all the kids came from. Because the mating was fun, there were lots of babies and the world’s population grew. Once someone ate the apple, there was birth control and a lot of the fun disappeared as either it was pulling out early or wearing some really uncomfortable “protection” (it both prevented conception and limited the spread of diseases). But these scientists, now properly sorry for their sins, came back with better condoms and contraceptive pills. This put the fun back into sex without having the babies spoil it all nine months later.

Except, that is, for some older men who actually want to leave their genes behind. In November last year, the Brits celebrated Mr Roden. His claim to fame? At the age of 71, he fathered twins. This made him the oldest father of twins and earned him a place in the Guinness Book of Records. For those of you who like all the gory details, this gives him a grand total of twelve children. Not being superstitious, the happy couple are planning to have another. The bad news for us is this man has remained sexually active without having to rely on little blue pills. How does he do it? He eats a diet based on the vegetables he grows in his yard, he does not smoke, drinks only occasionally and has sex regularly. He uses it rather than risk losing it. For the rest of the human race that prefers not to go out and dig the yard, smokes a pack a day and never says no to another drink when you’re buying, there’s the option to buy viagra online without a prescription and go for it with your partner. If the risk of babies bothers you, there are many ways in which you can have the fun without the consequences. Except, of course, when it comes to those unfortunately diseases. No matter how wonderful viagra, it’s not a barrier. If you are going with casual partners and uncertain of their medical history, wearing a condom keeps you safe. Should you reach seventy and decide you want children, you will still be in the race.

Summary

The article reminds older men they can continue to have children after the age of seventy (if that’s what they want, of course).

Fighting The Cocaine Demons!

“What part of this story am I expected to believe?” I asked myself. When I asked my son what he was doing out here at night he laughed and said, “I was on my way to your house when I remembered that I had a chicken in the oven and if I didn’t get back to my apartment it would burn, so I headed back home!”

That certainly makes sense, doesn’t it? When I mentioned the leather tool belt he was wearing, he told me that he was broke and out of food; the tool belt was to carry food from my house to his. I didn’t bother to ask where the chicken came from if he was broke. His answer, I’m sure, would have been great. The sad truth is that in his mind he wasn’t lying. He actually thought that the nonsense he’d told me was the truth. Tomorrow morning if he was straight, he would remember little of our conversation.

I’d been awakened from a sound sleep when he called, needing help. He was stranded not far from our house by a flat tire on his bicycle. One of us had to get out of bed and pick him up. It was my wife’s turn, but she promptly rolled over, pulled the covers over her face and told me to be careful with her car. My truck was in the driveway with a boat hooked behind it. I was going fishing in the morning and hated the thought of getting out of bed at 12:00 a.m. and rescuing an errant son.

I should mention that our son is 40 years old and has fought cocaine demons for at least half that many years. Unfortunately he has rarely won any of those battles and certainly not the war. His mother and I have gotten to the point that except for a few instances like this middle of the night call, we do not help him any longer. I shouldn’t even have left the house, but after all, he’s still our son. We’ve learned though, that we’re really not doing him any favors by coming to his aid.

After getting dressed, I found him two blocks from the house, with his bicycle in two pieces and with his front tire flat. He greeted me as if it were perfectly normal for him to have wrecked his bike at midnight on a dark and lonely street a couple of blocks from the house, with eyes so bloodshot that they looked like red traffic lights. Whatever it was that he was high on, it made him talk fast, laugh a lot and sincerely believe that anything he said was a perfectly plausible.

Our son has averaged four jobs a year for the last ten years. He has no trouble finding jobs, keeping them is something altogether different. He’s very good at whatever employment he takes, but inevitably goes on a binge after a couple of months and misses work for a week. Then he’s fired. The same thing happens time and time again.

He’s been through drug addiction clinics, therapy sessions and even short jail terms when whatever endeavor he was in turned sour. He’s had help from friends, family and even strangers who saw in him something that spurred their compassion. Nothing has worked. More than likely one day we’ll find him dead, either of an overdose or through the malice of drug dealers.

This story is not an uncommon one; it seems to be in every community and city in this country now. It seems that no one today is exempt from losing someone they care about, to the demons of either alcohol or drugs. Even former Vice President Al Gore’s son was arrested this week on drug charges. Everyone has their drug problems. Folks who think that their family has been spared the wrath of the drug gods are probably fooling themselves. We’re all affected in some way by drug abuse!

I don’t have the answer. I’m not nearly smart enough to find a solution to a problem that has buffaloed the sharpest minds in the world. I can only do what I can for our son. Maybe if every family would do what they can for their loved ones, we wouldn’t have such a huge problem, but then doing our best hasn’t helped him a lot.
